Thread: anddd....some randomness. Food themed in honor of my baking banana bread.

I make packaged gravy. DH grew up on it and doesn't like the homemade kind anymore. I don't mind, I am a pretty good cook. My aunt says "why re-invent the wheel?" McCormick makes perfectly good gravy I use the drippings from whatever cook to make it with though.

I'm sure there's something I am terrible at but I can't think right now. I know that sounds very conceited. Sorry ladies.

I can make gravy..I mix it in a jar--shakes all the lumps out! I always burn the first pancakes on the griddle..don't know why, I guess because the pan is too hot. I'm generally a good cook, but really I don't cook anything that's too difficult. I'm sure there's a lot out there that I'd not be able to make, but I just haven't tried yet!

Phyllis thats how we do gravy, shake the crap out of it. Or we use the big measuring cup and whisk like crazy!

My rice is hit and miss, it just depends on how close to/on that line Im on for the water amount. Its not bad, just sometimes not as nice as we like it.

I cant bake unless I have a package with complete directions. Just cooking baked goods (cake, muffins, bread, etc) with no exact measurements and step by step directions is a huge fail for me. Casserole, meats, veggies, Im fantastic at that! Im a cook, not a baker!
