Your neighborhood breastfeeding-idiot.
You know what?!? I never knew how much I didn't know until I started breast feeding.

Gah. Ok. Here's the thing...I stopped block feeding b/c it was clear that L needed both breasts and that my supply had decreased. I mean, I mostly one-side fed but then the last little bit almost every time came from the other side. And the pain is back. The pain in my right breast. So I looked on Kelly Mom and it said that it's most likely a result of over-production, mastitis or thrush. We can rule out thrush -- I have no signs of thrush and the pain isn't so much pins-and-needles like as it is just pain. And L has no signs of thrush. Begrudgingly I will also rule out mastitis b/c I see no red blotches, I don't think I've got any plugs and I'm not running a fever.

So it's from over-production.
Great. So what am I supposed to do if I can't really block feed? I mean...I guess I could go back to feeding first from the same breast twice but I just feel like I'm on this endless merry-go-round where I make progress and then *bam* I'm back to some kind of trick-feeding (I know that's a weird way to describe it but I'm sleep deprived and I'm out of words) to try and get things "right" again. I just want it to work for me like it's supposed to!! So frustrating...

Anyway...so I guess I go back to this schedule then? Left first, left first, right first, right first, rinse...repeat...?

A friend of mine mentioned these bm collection shells...ever used them? Basically I just put on on the breast I'm not using like a nursing pad when I nurse L and it collects the run-off. Then I can store it and give her a bottle every couple days or so. I thought this was interesting b/c it might help me decrease my supply (since I would be nursing less often) but I would have to cold-compress b/c I already get engorged by the time it's time to switch breasts (yes...I stepped off 4 hour blocks too fast and reverted again :( )

Here comes L to eat...just a second.

I feel as though mine nd Katie's breastfeeding is coming to an end. Last night she was nursing all night and was getting nothing out. I tried to get some out manually and I could not get anything. I'm pumping less and less everyday since Friday. I understand they are over feeding her but I'm still struggling to get 6oz and that is three pumping sessions combined. I feel as though my milk is drying up. I wanted to get to a year but I guess we are not meant too.

I hope it's ok that my breastfeeding experiences are extremely limited. I can only BF for 3-4 weeks with my newborns before my milk is gone. I had hoped that if I get that BFP and have another one.. I'll be considered ok to talk here still.

I'm one of those rare ladies who just do not have enough mammary tissue :( I give what I can but I've never had a let down feeling or noticed when milk "came in". All I get pretty much is colostrum stuff and then it fades away. It's not even enough for a whole feeding during that time though - I have to supplement because I produce only 1/2 an ounce at best.

Would it be ok to still talk about that situation in here while trying to BF during that time frame? The rules mentioned something about not talking about bottle feeding or formulas or what have you, I just have no choice for my situation, but I don't have to mention that end of it.

Pumping is hard. I dont know how some of you ladies pumped for as long as you did. I finally got down to pumping just what my daughter ate. Then my supply dropped drastically. I was not pumping anything. My daughter is now eating 15oz while I'm at work 8-5. And I'm barely getting between 6-9oz. I feel like I'm not going to make to to a year. We do not like the soy free dairy free option for formula.

What can I do to not be so stressed out.

I never ever leaked while preggo ever. Never even really leaked when bf honestly but totally did last night. You really can't understand how such a silly thing made me soooo happy. It was just a little proof that my body is gearing up for bfing and it might actually cooperate this time:) I can't wait for another nursling.
